For Plain and Amish business owners
Why Advertise on Amish Country Shopper?
The balance of being able to find your business on Google and advertise a business without a website.
Being Searchable
Making Sure Customers Can Find You
If you build, frame, roof, bake or repair for a living and your customers keep telling you they only found you by accident, this page explains the arrangement that fixes it.
Customers no longer drive the back roads looking for a hand-lettered sign. They type what they want into a telephone and call whoever appears. A business with no website does not appear — not because the work is worse, but because there is nothing for the search to find. That is a solvable problem, and solving it does not require you to get my business online in any sense your community would object to.
A LISTING ON AMISH COUNTRY SHOPPER
Your Own Page — Without Owning A Website
Many Plain business owners choose not to own a website, and advertising on Amish Country Shopper doesn’t require one. That distinction is the heart of how this works.
This is not your website. It’s a page in a publication that someone else owns, builds and maintains. You don’t need a computer, an internet connection, or an account — there is nothing to log in to and nothing to manage. We do the work, and you approve every word before it appears. It’s the same arrangement as placing an advertisement in a newspaper you don’t print.
Every church district is different, and whether this arrangement is right for you is a conversation for you, your family and your church — not for us. We encourage every business owner to have that conversation first, and we respect the answer, whatever it is.
Kentucky Barns, Bricker Builders and Anderson Metal Sales each had that conversation before joining.
How the page works
More Than A Simple Catalog Listing
Your page stands entirely on its own.
A business page on Amish Country Shopper carries no menu bar across the top, no navigation down the side, and no footer full of links at the bottom. Nothing on your page is designed for visitors to browse anywhere else.
A customer who finds you through a search lands on a page with your name at the top, your photographs, your products, your address and your telephone number — and nothing else competing for their attention. To them it reads as your own page, because in every way that matters to them, it is.
That is deliberate. Your page promotes your business and nothing else — it never appears to endorse another company, and every visitor who arrives is yours alone. It also makes the arrangement simple to explain: one page, built and maintained by a publisher, presenting your business plainly.
The rest of this site — the Amish business directory, the featured business page, the articles — carries the usual menus and links, because those pages are ours. Yours does not.

The Questions We Are Often Asked
What happens to enquiries?
They come straight to you. Your telephone number is on the page and customers call it. We do not stand between you and your customer, we do not take orders on your behalf, and we do not take a commission on anything you sell. If a customer telephones us by mistake, we give them your number.
Who maintains the page?
Creative Quo does — the agency that owns and publishes this site. Hosting, updates, photographs, the writing and the technical work are all ours. You will never need a computer, an email address or an internet connection to keep your page running.
What if we want something changed?
Tell us. New product line, new price list, a photograph you would rather we did not use, a change of hours, a son taking over the shop — we make the change.
Do I need to be Amish?
No. Amish Country Shopper was designed to help Plain and Amish-owned businesses have a place they can advertise themselves and for Google to point to. If you have a reason to want a page on Amish Country Shopper, fill out the contact form.
